Christian Barraclough - Trumpet

Christian was born in London in 1990 and started learning the trumpet aged 8. 7 years later, he performed the Hummel Trumpet Concerto with the London Mozart Players, aged 15. He was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music under Alistair Mackie and Mike Lovatt, and graduated in 2012 having won the Tagore Gold Medal.
He now works with ensembles and orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, as well as the English National Opera, English National Ballet, London Brass and Onyx Brass. Through his orchestral work he has taken the role of principal trumpet in many of the major concert halls around the world, from Japan to America.
As a soloist and session musician his work includes recitals and performances for The Queen, Prince Charles, Radio 3, Classic FM, WDR Radio and BBC Television. His session work also includes many film soundtracks including Wonder Woman, Dunkirk, Black Panther, Justice League, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Dumbo, Captain Marvel, Mary Poppins Returns, Beauty and the Beast, Kingsman, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them, 1917, Predators and many more.
